Μήτις (Metis)
A cosmic goddess in Greek mythology, «Μήτις» is incarnating the spring of wisdom and the power of provident thinking. Through her junction with Zeus, her wisdom is taking shape and becomes action: Athena is born – the goddess of technical know-how and strategic planning
Ηγεσία (Leadership)
Athena, daughter of Metis, represents the archetype of applied knowledge: the one that not only remain theoretical, but also guides action and leads to progress. She is the mild power that inspires and bridges the conseptualisation of action.

At the heart of any innovation lies an act of wisdom. The Innovation and Knowledge Transfer Unit of the University of Crete is inspired by Metis (Metida)– the mythical figure who personifies strategic intelligence and insight.

Member of the National Network METEX
Metis participates in the National Network of Technology Transfer Offices (NNTTO) with the intent to amplify the utilisation of research and innovation in Greece. Through cooperation with other Technology Transfer Offices of the academic and research community, we have access to the best practices, educational activities, conferences and common resources that amplify our task to support research, consolidation and utilisation of knowledge.
